I just explained why they love the darkness, which a person who knew the bible would have understood. I was not speaking a logical fallacy. Here is the verse i was referencing.
Weird how a supposed scientist purposefully chooses to be ignorant about the science of AGW.
The reason that there are so many roads on the path to enlightenment, is that they all lead to the same place. Or, so I believe.
Keep at it and maybe it will come to you.
Stop making sense :))
That's what I gathered from the original comment.
My certainty is 0 on the first scale, and I'm much less clear on the second scale. My certainty there would be more than 50 and less than 100.
I have read it. It's hard for me to understand how anyone who reads it can believe it. This god is childish, cruel, unimaginative, petty and arbitrary. This god isn't even terribly bright. If I was going to invent a god, I think I could have done a far better job.
I have not edited my comment. I think he is confusing my comment with one from Pope Hilarious "I accept there is no free will" which at the time of the post were the two comments showing. Wow I had not scrolled down to see the discussion until now.
Thank you. You claimed that hermeneutics has an explanation for slaughtering, but you couldn't provide it. I respect that.
So you admit that you can't describe the role emotions and "value experiences" play in empirical science.
My posts are more like the guy on the right, but my big nose more resembles the guy on the left. So, I'm a combination of the two.
For you perhaps, I cut the middlemen long ago for something more pure. You can't disprove my view because it's not a belief but a compounding of expirences. I see faith in actions not claims in a book. That connection is ultimately for the individual to Persue and choose for themeselves, nobody can give the that.
I think the confusion is that I used the incorrect spelling of a word, I meant tenet, not tenant. If you read it as tenant, as in occupying something, then I understand the miscommunication and concede that it would have needed a qualifier.
Because I'm human and a part of society. Because the reward I get for doing the right thing is more substantial than some ephemeral promise of a non existent afterlife.
Considering when I grew up local The Church of God,Church of Christ,Pentecostal Church, and Three Baptist Churches were all throwing condemnations at each other (Including the three Baptists at each other). Yeah, I gave up on Churches a LONG time ago. If i want to talk to the Creator, no matter what you call him/her/it, I do it by myself.
Out of all the pages on Hugh's RTB, would you suggest this one as the best starting point for someone like me who's never heard of this guy or this organization and am looking for actual evidence of a deity?
So with that in mind take another look at the Doctor. Do the research look for the messiah and ignore the followers, since we are fallible tend to be poor examples of Jesus. If you are interested I could recommend some books that could give you some logical explanations, along with personal testimony.
no that would be mcliar or wynne
Detail your evidence please
Look at you provin you know stuffy stuff, mr Stable Genious person!
I think we agree in most things and the things we don't aren't much of an issue. But maybe the disagreement is what we mean when we say "literal". I think it's going to the argument of what do we mean when we say scripture is inspired, maybe? I can believe (and do believe) that the Bible is wholly inspired by God. That does not necessarily mean that I find it infallible though. I do not, for example, believe that an actual dragon with seven (#?) horns is going to fight with Christ at the end of the world. I do not believe that God placed His hand over Moses as He passed by, because I don't believe God has hands. That's what I mean by a literal interpretation. But that does not mean that I don't believe the Bible is true in all it says.
No, Hitler's top guys were neo-pagans. The Pope was trying to have a treaty and prevent damage to the RCC by the Nazis and to separate them from politics. Hitler ignored it when he wanted.
